Click here to view this email as a web page Has Horror ever been the predominant emotion within your Project Team? Has the phrase "I'm fairly certain that this will not lead to scope creep" reminded you of the infamous last words of a horror movie heroine, "I'll be right back..."? If so, you may have been experiencing PM Horror. While enjoying a horror film every now and then can be entertaining, PM Horror stories are no fun. This week, we would like to celebrate Alfred Hitchcock Day on March 12th, to honor the master horror filmmaker and producer, and we need your help! If you'd like to share a story with us about your most nightmarish project, you will be entered to win the 1st place prize of a free 3-month trial of Cheetah Learning's 2-PDU of the month club (for a total of 6 PDUs) to alleviate the horror of ever having your PMP credential lapse. You will also be entered to win the 2nd place prize of our 2 PDU Earned Value Analysis course to learn how to properly monitor your projects so that there are no horrifying surprises. Just for sharing your story, we'll send you a promotional code to receive 5% off all of our Cheetah courses that will be valid until March 31st. All stories must be submitted by this Thursday evening before 8:00 pm EST to qualify for the contest. Visit our "PM Horror" page to learn more about how you can share your story with us and get free PDUs. We wish you a PM Horror-free day. I need 200 survey responses for the dissertation research for my Ph.D. in Organization and Management / Project Management by April 6, and will appreciate any help you can give me in getting the word out. PMPs with virtual project (not all team members are located in the same place) experience are encouraged to go to www.pmi.org/Resources/Pages/Tell-Us-What-You-Think.aspx and click on the "E-Leadership and Project Success Survey" to take my survey. The results of this survey may enable project managers to affect virtual project success through effective leadership techniques, improve the practice of managing virtual projects, and contribute to the body of knowledge on the subject of virtual project management leadership. The PMP section of the survey should take (at the most) 20 minutes to complete. After the PMP completes this section, he or she will forward the email message received with the survey link to a Project Office, Project Planner or Project Lead (or a team member with a similar role - this individual does not need to be a PMP) to complete section two and submit the survey. The PMP's responses are confidential and cannot be viewed by the second respondent. Section two is a very short 12-question survey about the project based on the triple constraints. Thank you. Please complete the survey yourself! And I appreciate any help you can give me in spreading the word to your chapter members and colleagues to go to pmi.org and get the survey. Respectfully, Margaret R.
