J. Harris * Thorough! Great illustrations to help understand obstacles within team building. M. Frazier, TSYS * Outstanding Speaker - ability to put things in simple terms for better understanding. Examples are great. L. Hatfield * This was excellent training to get a different view of Risk Assessment. There were good examples to follow the concepts. D. Location: Columbus Main Library Auditorium 3000 Macon Road. Networking at 11:30am, program begins at 12 noon. Our guest speaker will be Tony Huey, 2nd VP, Aflac IT Atlanta Technology Office. The topic: "Challenges of Managing Off-shore Projects" Tony M. Huey, Sr. is a Graduate of Baylor University with a dual degree in Management Information Systems and Business Management. He has over 19 years of business and technology leadership, and IT strategy development and implementation experience. He joined Aflac in November 2007 as an officer in their Information Technology Organization. Career Highlights: Fifteen months (18) months with Aflac where he currently holds the position of 2nd VP IT-Advanced Technology. In this role, Tony is responsible for the leadership of the Atlanta Technology Center which includes the Atlanta Application Development Center and the Software Research and Development Center. Both departments use Agile and Rapid Development techniques to deliver strategic projects to the Business and Operations Support divisions. Key initiatives delivered include portal based applications that provide policyholder and Associates self service; Mobile applications that provide near real-time data to the sales Associates; and a new graphical interface application provided to the Call Center for customer call support operations. The portal applications allow for self service of accounts, submitting online claims, or statusing of pending policies and claims via the web. The mobile platform deployed allows for access by the Associates to key policy and policyholder information to support the sales and account servicing processes. Finally, the new call center application enhances call center operations with the purpose of reducing call handle time by the Customer Service Representatives. Nine (9) years in the consulting industry, Tony held various senior leadership and executive positions; Provant (PMSI) Project Management, Trilogy Software and BearingPoint. His primary focus was on Application Development and Technical Project Delivery, Program Management and PMO implementations, as well as Vendor Management and Onshore/Offshore Relationship Development. During this nine year stint, Tony's primary focus was consulting with industry leaders in the Investment Banking and Public Trading sectors, Major Insurance, other Financial Services organizations, and Telephony.
